2 1/2 c. flour

1 2/3 c. sugar

1 1/4 tsp. baking powder

1 1/4 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. salt

2/3 c. shortening

1 c. buttermilk

1 1/4 c. bananas, mashed

3 eggs

2/3 c. nuts

Directions

Sift dry elements collectively.

Add shortening,

2/3 cup buttermilk, and mashed bananas.

Beat for two minutes.

Add eggs and the rest of buttermilk.

Fold in nuts.

Pour into ready pans.

Bake at 350 levels;

35 minutes two 9 inch layers 45 minutes one 9 x 13 inch rectangular.

End with butter icing or whipped cream.

Embellish with sliced bananas.
