3/4 c. shortening

1 c. sugar

1 egg, slightly beaten

1/4 c. molasses

2 c. flour

2 tsp. baking soda

1/2 tsp. salt

1 tsp. cinnamon

1/2 tsp. ginger


Cream shortening, add sugar and cream well.

Add egg and molasses,


Sift dry ingredients.

Add to first mixture.

Mix well.

Shape into small balls, roll in sugar,.

Place 2 inches apart.

Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
